
About Course
The course will equip participants with the required tools and techniques to prepare and deliver impactful presentations and speeches. Participants will learn how to prepare, plan and structure a presentation, with an emphasis on tailoring their message to the audience. Various tips and tricks for engaging the audience from start to finish will be featured and practiced. Some common mistakes made by public speakers will also be discussed, with the goal of providing tips to avoid them and, in case of occurrence, recover from them. Effective strategies for handling Q&A sessions will also be tackled.
The program utilizes a collaborative and experiential learning approach. Through practical exercises, feedback and evaluation from peers and instructors, participants will gain hands-on experience and develop their presentation skills to achieve maximum impact in real-life scenarios.

A full mark implies uninterrupted attendance through the full course of studies.

Practical application structured as follows:
Learners will be expected to participate throughout the duration of the course in group discussions and small group work. Other techniques used for formative assessment include the following individual or group-based techniques:
- Learners are asked to answer questions posed by the trainer and other learners/sub-groups
- Course recap and Q&A session (third day of training)
A formative assessment rubric will be used in order (1) to support consistent assessment practices (2) to communicate clear expectations to trainees, (3) ensure transparency and (4) pinpoint strengths and areas of improvement.

Final examination:
The final examination is divided into two parts:
- Part 1:
Written component: Multiple choice test comprising 10 questions
Weight: 20 points
Time allocated: 45 minutes

- Part 2:
Practical component: Preparation and delivery of a 5 min pitch (individual)
Weight: 50 points
For the practical component, the trainer will assess participants using the following categories with the respective weighting. The categories are defined as follows:
Content (25%):
- Clarity and relevance of the main message.
- Effective organization and logical flow of ideas.
- Knowledge of the topic
- Quality and accuracy of supporting evidence and examples (if applicable).
Delivery (25%):
- Engaging and confident presence
- Suitable body language, gestures, and eye contact
- Voice projection, pace, and modulation to maintain audience interest
- Effective use of visual aids and other supporting materials (if applicable)
Connection with the audience (15%):
- Ability to establish rapport and connect with the audience.
- Engagement and responsiveness to audience reactions.
Time Management (10%):
- Staying within the allotted 5-minute timeframe.
- Efficient use of time to cover all essential points.
Q&A session (10%)
- Skilful handling of questions
Overall impact (15%):
- Memorable and impactful presentation style (incl. at the start and ending of the speech)
- Persuasiveness and ability to inspire action.
- Originality and creativity in conveying ideas.
