Today our certified trainers have introduced participants to team-building activities that provide excellent opportunities to strengthen communication and leadership skills. In addition to being entertaining, this kind of activity is a great way to understand how each individual communicates and interprets information.
“Blind drawing” consists of dividing participants into teams of two and then giving a picture to one person; a pencil and a sheet of paper to the other. Whoever has the picture must describe it so that their teammate can draw it. Only vocabulary related to geometry and spatial terms can be used to guide the person drawing. Under no circumstances should the two collaborators show each other the images. At the end of the allotted time, each team can reveal its result.
This initiation creates a great opportunity to develop interpretation and communication and allows to diagnose gaps and offer advice, if necessary. The participants will quickly realise that information that appears simple at first glance can be interpreted very differently from one person to another!
